The Schneider XUM0ANSAL2 is a high-performance photoelectric sensor designed for versatile applications in industrial automation. This miniature sensor is part of the Telemecanique Photoelectric sensors XU series, known for its general-purpose multimode capabilities. It features a robust plastic enclosure with a PBT material construction, ensuring durability in demanding environments.
The XUM0ANSAL2 operates on a 12 to 24 V DC supply voltage and utilises a 3-wire NPN discrete output, which can be programmed for either normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) functions. Its detection system is multimode, supporting infrared diffuse, infrared diffuse with background suppression, infrared thru beam, and red polarised reflex modes. This flexibility allows it to achieve a nominal sensing distance of up to 10 metres in thru beam mode, with a maximum sensing distance of 14 metres.
Equipped with a 2-metre cable for electrical connection, the sensor is designed for easy integration into existing systems. It includes status LEDs for supply, instability, and output state, providing clear operational feedback. The XUM0ANSAL2 is engineered to withstand harsh conditions, with an IP65/IP67 degree of protection, vibration resistance, and shock resistance, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
